The Bolivar Peninsula is a 27-mile long barrier island along the Texas gulf coast.  On Saturday, September 13, 2008, its beautiful beaches were devastated by Hurricane Ike.

Now residents, business owners, vacationers, and many others with ties to Bolivar Peninsula are waiting to rebuild its towns; Crystal Beach, High Island, Port Bolivar, Caplen, Gilchrist, and Rollover Pass.
